On 2nd August 2021, the Hon\’ble
Judrel Lyonpo inaugurated the RSTA Service Center located in Babesa.
Besides delivering general
vehicle and driving license related services, this new Service Center will be especially helpful
to the owners and drivers of medium and heavy vehicles who are unable to visit RSTA
office during working hours due to restriction of medium and heavy vehicle entry in the
core town area.
As per the record with RSTA,
there are a total of 48,098 vehicles registered in Thimphu with new vehicles getting
registered every day. The demand for vehicle related services has, thus, increased proportionately.
The Service Center, which is
located near the STCBL Head Office in Babesa, is expected to complement the online services
and enhance provision of service delivery. Meanwhile, the RSTA Thimphu Regional Office
in Lungtenzampa will continue to deliver services as usual.
