The Road Safety and Transport Act and Regulations require all motor vehicles in the
country to undergo test of emission levels at least once a year. The conduct of
Emission Testing had been outsourced to private firms since 2006 to two private
firms.
The Authority is planning to establish well equipped Motor Vehicle Fitness and
Emission Testing Centre in the long run. Meanwhile, the emission testing would be
outsourced to private firms.
